Start with a legal name, a state-specific identifier or both. SENTINEL routes the query to one selected official state source and explains whether the path is automated or guided.
The United States has no single national company registry because business registration is state-based. SENTINEL reviews one selected state per request: four states use automated official data and 46 provide guided official registry lookup. No paid commercial aggregator or mass 50-state search is used for core evidence.

Evidence guide
Yes. Every state interface reviewed provides an official legal-name search. SENTINEL performs supported automated name lookup in Colorado, Connecticut, New York and Oregon; for the other states it provides the correct official search route and guidance.
No. EIN is a federal tax identifier rather than a universal state company identifier. Florida, Maryland and Texas expose EIN-based search options, but SENTINEL currently guides those searches and does not submit them automatically.
No. Business-entity records are maintained by state filing offices, so a state must be selected and results apply only to that jurisdiction.
