Legal, national and US state registries
Supported routes include official US state sources, Corporations Canada, Companies House and selected national EU registry services. A provider is queried only when the jurisdiction and supplied search details make it applicable.
United States state-by-state coverage
All 50 state interfaces were reviewed. Colorado and Connecticut use complete official registry datasets; New York and Oregon use limited official open-data sources. The other 46 states provide guided official lookup without scraping. Official legal-name search is available in every reviewed state interface, while separate state-identifier terminology and availability vary; Florida, Maryland and Texas also expose EIN-based search options.
Tax-registration services
European Commission VIES validates EU VAT numbers. National VAT sources answer jurisdiction-specific tax questions. VIES is not a company registry.
Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom
Canada Open Data supports federal candidate discovery while the live Corporations Canada API supplies final evidence; both belong to one source family and are not double-counted. Official ABN Lookup provides ABR business and GST facts when configured; it is not ASIC. HMRC VAT currently runs in sandbox mode and returns labelled test data, not production VAT evidence.
Reference-only coverage
BRIS is an official European e-Justice reference layer. It describes registry availability and never increases SENTINEL’s confirmed evidence count.
